Senor Sanchez Guerra. was arrested at Valencia and lodged in the military prison. H.e was suspected of complicity in a plot to overthrow General Primo de Rivera in September. Airplanes flew over the town of Cuidad Real and dropper leaflets stating, “All Spain quiet. Surrender immediately and return to barracks, otherwise you will be bombarded.” The revolt ended inside half an hour and the rebels returned to the barracks with their guns. Th ecivic authorities returned to duty and normal life was restored. The Prime Minister, General Primo de Rivera, created a sensation in the National Assembly by declaring that a conspiracy against the State had been discovered. It was to have been put into execution throughout Spain on the previous night. The conspiracy had failed completely, except at the city of Ciudad Real, 100 miles south of Madrid. There an artillery regiment had placed guns in the sti*eets, taken posses: ion of the lines of communication and stopped all trains. The Government had dispatched airplanes, the pilots of wlhich were instructed to scatter proclamations. Order had been restored at Ciudad Real and calm now reigned throughout the country. Later the Director of Railways announced that the train services to Ciudad Real had been resumed.
