MAJESTIC

> CLARA BOW tO-MORROW The two fine pictures which make up the current programme at the Majestic Theatre, both of them screen versions of famous English plays, will be shown for the last time this evening. They are “Mis Mouse in Order,” Sir Arthur Pinero’s play, starring Tallulah Bankhead, and “Not Quite a Dady,” from “The Cassilis Engagement,” with Mabel Pbulton as the star. The fleet’s in from a training cruise, and every sailor, from the skipper on down, looks forward to shore leave. That’s the setting for the new picture to-morrow, “The Fleet’s In.” To meet the fleet, and to drum up trade, the Koseland Dance Hg.ll management has sent down its band and hostesses to give the sailors the glad hand when they are sent ashore. The girls are headed by Peachy Deane (Clara Bow), who becomes the centre of a rivalry between Eddie Briggs and Doyle. Eddie is a self-styled sheik in the navy, while Doyle boasts of a girl in every port. Doyle vows that Peachy will wear his ring. •Peachy spurns the cocky Eddie at the dance hall that night, and gives her dances to Doyle. There is a moonlight waltz, and Eddie cuts in with Peachy, finishing the dance with him. A prize dance is given, with Peachy and Eddie winning the prize cup for being the best couple on the floor. Still this does not win Peachy over, so Eddie fakes a fight with a foolish friend of his, so that he can be Peachy’s hero. Critics have hailed “The Fleet’s In” with the popular star’s part, as being one of the best she has ever done. The story is different, yet gives Clara every opportunity to employ her best histrionic talent. James Hall has the leading role opposite the star, with Jack Oakie, a new screen find, in supoprt. An excellent supporting programme will also be shown, and new musical selections have been prepared by Mr. J. Whiteford Waugh for his Majestic Orchestra.
