BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH
The Birkenhead Borough Council held its fortnightly meeting last evening, the Mayor, Mr. E. G. Skeates, presiding. The engineer reported that the laying of the 4in mains is completed for the full length of Victoria Koad West, Rangatira Road and Kiwi Road. The Mayor, who is leaving for England on February 15, tendered his resignation as Birkenhead’s representative on the N'orth Shore Water Board, which was accepted with regret. Cr. Campbell was appointed to fill the vacancy. Mr J McEnnis, chairman of the .No. District Highways Council, notified that the Main Highways Board will provide J£l for £1 on the estimated cost of £554 for the approximate five chains of concrete in Onewa Road.
