AMAZING OUTBURST RETIRING COURT CLERK BITTER COMPLAINT MADE Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-tlay. “If I live for 14,000 years I will never forget the callous and brutal treatment meted out to me.” So said Mr. Michael Foley, now retiring from the position ot chief clerk at the Magistrate’s Court, Christchurch, to-day, when being farewelled by- Bench, Bar and police. “I was. denied .promotion,” said Mr. Foley,'“and so lose superannuation. I was retired years before my time and if sucli 'treatment.' iff to he tolerated then justice and' fair play become hollow meaningless terms.” Various speakers paid tribute to Mr. Foley's work. Mr. Henry Holland, M.P.. J.P., said Mr. Foley had not had a fair deal.
