HOOVER AND AL SMITH

FRIENDLY MEETING AT MIAMI (Australian and N.Z. Pres 3 AssociationJ Reed. 9.16 a.m. NEW YORK, Tuesday. A message from Miami Beach says that following on Mr. Herbert Hoover’s friendly gesture, that he would be happy to meet his defeated rival for the Presidency, Mr. A 1 Smith, who is also spending a vacation iu Florida, the latter called on Mr. Hoover. Both chatted with apparently keen enjoyment regarding amusing features of the late Presidential campaign. Mr. A 1 Smith wore his famous brown Derby hat for the first time since the campaign ended. Mr. Hoover personally escorted Mr. Smith to the door when the latter departed.
