PICTURES AND MONEY LATE MRSHOSEPH AMES Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. The late Mrs. Joseph Ames, after giving specific legacies to a large number of relatives and friends, left varying amounts to various causes, including £2OO to the Wellington Seamen’s Mission, six pictures and £IOO to the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, £3OO to the Wellington Anglican Cathedral, £2OO to the Free Kindergarten, £2OO to the Marsden school for prizes in connection with housekeeping. £4OO to found an annual scholarship for the girl who, through necessity, might be unable to continue her education at Wellington East College, and £2OO for Ames Memorial prizes at St. Mark’s Church day school. Others to benefit are the Wellington Zoo, which receives £IOO to purchase animals, the Salvation Army, and Mother Mary Joseph Aubert’s Home for Incurables.
