QUEST FOR YOUNG PLAYERS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY, Thursday. In the Sheffield Shield cricket match. New South Wales v. Victoria, which was commenced to-day at Sydney, the quest for young players began in earnest. The New South Wales eleven is comprised of young men. except the captain, T. Anrrews. The Victorian side, however, contains a few veterans. New South Wales won the toss and gave a great display of batting. They remained in all day against the excellent bowling of Ironmonger, Ebeling and Gamble. The score when stumps were drawn was 358 for three wickets (Jackson 41. Fairfax 10 4. Bradman 129. not out, Andrews 19, McCabe, not out 43).
