WATERSIDER KILLED

TIMBER SLING COLLAPSES DEATH FROM INJURIES Yesterday afternoon two men were working in the No. 1 hold of the Ulimaroa when a sling of timber slipped and fell on them. The were both badly hurt and one of them died in hospital this morning. The accident occurred about five o’clock yesterday afternoon. John Vernon, a married man, aged 4G. of 26 Grafton Road, had his right arm and left leg fractured. He was admitted to hospital and died at about seven o’clock this morning. The other man, Laurits Hansen, aged 56. of 40 Grey’s Avenue, received an in iury to his right thigh. He was also admitted to hospital but his condition ia now satisfactory.
