RESERVING TRAIN SEATS
COMPLAINTS AT HAMILTON (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTOX, Thursday. Public protests have been made locally concerning the action of the Railway Department in reserving all seats in expresses and leaving none available for travellers who have not reserved. It has been further stated that many of the seats with “reserved” cards over them before they leave Auckland or Frankton are never occupied, and consequently the public is given a misleading impression. Some persons have complained that even although they book days ahead their claims are “jumped” on the night of travelling. It is possible a deputation will wait on Mr. H. H. Sterling, general manager.
