WATERSIDERS’ PICNIC
DAY OUT AT COWE’S BAY Throughout New Zealand yesterday waterside-workers held their annual picnics. The weather was fine for the Auckland function, which was held at Cowes Bay. and some 1,500 people left on the Rangitoto for a quick trip down the harbour to the picnic .place. A successful sports programme wusconducted and bathing and walking on the beach helped to fill in the duv. : recitation competition was held among the children and 42 entrants competed The Auckland Waterside Workers’ Union Silver Band played popularmusic during the day.
