HIKURANGI COAL COY.

NET PROFIT OF £9,227 A net profit of £9,227 4s 3d is shown in the 35th annual report of the Hikurangi Coal Company, Ltd., for the year ended December 31, 1925. During 1927 the company made a profit of £5,907; during 1926, owing to trouble with water in the mine, a loss of £10,826; during 1925, a profit of £1,455; during 1924, a loss of £7,536. The directors report that sales of coal during 1928 constituted a company record, with a consequent reduction in costs and a substantial reduction of liabilities. No dividend is proposed for the year. Messrs. A. G. Lunn and A. J. Parker, the retiring directors, offer themselves for re-election. Pigs came forward in average numbers. Prices ranged: Fat cows, £9 to £9 6s; killable cows, £7 7s to £8 ss; cows in forward condition, £6 10s to £7 3s; cows in fresh condition, £5 8s to £6 ss; rough store cows, £4 to £4 17s; IS months Friesian cross heifers, r.w.b., £6 Is; small Jersey cross do., £5 8s; fleshy hulls, £6 7s 6d to £7 15s. Pigs: Large stores, £1 12s to £1 18s; medium do., £1 5s 6d to £1 Ss: slips, 19s to £1 3s 6d; weaners, 9s to 14s.
