HAYMAKER KILLED
STRUCK BY POLE TWO ACCIDENTS IN WAIKATO (Special to THE SUN) TE AROHA, Monday. f Crushed beneath a stacking p'ole, Antonia Raffallo Frandi, aged 50, received such injuries that he died before ad octor could arrive. Frandi was working- at Ngarua, and had erected the stacking pole himself. The pole worked loose, and crashed down suddenly, narrowly missing several other of the workers. The injured man was struck on the head and chest. Another haymaking accident happened near here. On Saturday afternoon Bernard John Barker, aged 17. working for Mr. If. O. Cooper, was also struck by the boom of a stacking pole, which fell suddenly. He escaped with a fractured left arm and a badly injured leg. His foot was amputated at the Waikato Hospital, and he is now in a serious condition.
