TO BE EXAMINED

MAN SAID TO HAVE ASSAULTED WIFE “DIFFICULT” PRISONER A prisoner who had a rooted objection to entering the court-room was remanded at the Police Court this morning, Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., suggesting that he be medically examined. Ralph Allison was charged with.assaulting Ada Allison so as to do her actual bodily harm at Waihi on January 14. "We cannot get him past the door of the prisoners’ room,” said Sub-In-spector McCarthy as sounds of a vigorous struggle filled the court-room. “His wife is still in the hands of the doctor and I would suggest a week’s remand. The man is showing signs of being mentally affected.” "I would suggest a medical examination,” commented Mr. McKean as sounds of a further outburst came through the closed door.
