DESPERATE DUTCHMAN SHOT, AND THROATS CUT (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) AMSTERDAM, Friday. Four policeman in the early morning visited a house at Grootegast, near Groningen, occupied by Wykstra, a suspected anarchist, in order to inquire into the alleged neglect of six children by a woman with whom Wykstra was living, and whose husband is in gaol. Wykstra furiously seized a rifle, shot at the policemen and cut their throats, dragged their bodies inside, and set fire to the house.

Wykstra and the woman were subsequently arrested at Groningen.
