VENEZUELA EARTHQUAKE

A TOWN LEVELLED TWENTY-FIVE PERSONS DEAD (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) VANCOUVER, Thursday. A message from Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, says the newspaper ‘‘El Universal” reports that the town of Cumana was shaken by an earthquake, and that 25 dead persons and a great number of injured have been taken from the ruins of the buildings. The governor of Cumana says every building in the town Was destroyed. The Government is sending supplies, with doctors and nurses, to the stricken area. The town of Cumana is 250 miles east of Caracas. It is a port with a considerable trade in fruit, coffee.
