SURGEONS’ REPLY

LETTER TO BOARD request for details Keplying to the criticism of Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Hospital Board the honorary medical staff of the hospital has sent the following letter to the board: “The honorary staff of the hospital see in this morning’s paper that the chairman of the board has received complaints about the working of the hospital, in particular respect to the attention given patients by the honorary staff. We ask that detailed information of the camplaints should be supplied to us in writing through the medical superintendent, so that thorough investigation can be made. A special meeting of the staff is being called to consider the matter; meanwhile regret is expressed that prior to this necessary investigation a general statement defamatory to the good name of the hospital has been made public.” _
