FATE OF RIVER CLYDE OWNERS WANT TO RESELL (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 12.50 p.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The military correspondent of the “Morning Post,” pointing out that the owners of the River Clyde, as was announced in Parliament on December 27, have found that the ship was unprofitable and were offering to resell her, adds that the ship’s sentimental value to Britain is considerable. Some persons or persons may be. disposed to secure her as a national memorial of (me of the most gallant episodes in military annals. The River Clyde was used for the landing of the 29th Division at Gallipoli.
