FRANCE TO BUILD MORE WARSHIPS NAVAL BILL PASSED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 12.50 p.m. PARIS, Tuesday. The Chamber of Deputies, without debate, passed the Naval Construction Bill, providing for the laying down before the end of June of one 10,000ton cruiser, six 2,400-ton destroyers, six 1,500-ton submarines, as well as a mine-layer, several dispatch vessels and tankers. M. Leygues said that no country wants peace more than France, but she must have ships to defend her legitimate interests.
