OFF FOR THE SOUTH

SUPPLY SHIP LEAVES VOYAGE TO BAY OF WHALES CSpccial to THE SUE) DUNEDIN, To-day. The Byrd Antarctic expedition supply ship, Eleanor Boling, left Otago Harbour yesterday on her second voyage to the Bay of Whales in the Ross Sea. She carried a full shipment of provisions and equipment. On Saturday various sections of a portable hut to be used on the Barrier, a Fokker monoplane, a supply of petrol and winter clothing for the men were loaded. The ship has now on board three airplanes and sufficient supplies to keep the 40 men on the Barrier for 15 months. This is necessary in case the pack ice should prevent a third trip being made this year. The Eleanor Boling is expected to reach the Bay of Whales on January 25, and will return to Dunedin abcit February 12.
