Pope Condemns Superstitions About Unlucky Days and “13”

(■Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Received 10 a.m. ROME, Sunday. THE Pope has recommended bishops to condemn superstitions, notably prejudice against the number 13, Tuesdays and Fridays, which are popularly regarded as unlucky. The Pope would have the Church restore those days to favour, and absolve “13” of its supposedly sinister influences. He says that mostly the country, clergy foster these beliefs. .
