MINERS TO SWIM

NEW BATH AT PUKEMIRO (Prom Our Own Correspondent) HUNTLY, To-day. For some time past the residents of Pukemiro have been devoting their energies toward the erection of a swimming bath, and just before the holidays the bath became au accomplished fact. With their usual kindness the Pukemiro Collieries, Ltd., gave the labour free for the work, and the residents responded liberally toward ~.e project. The result is that a pool nearly 100 ft. long and varying in depth from -ft 6in tp 6ft 6in has been completed. It is exposed to the sun and makes bathing a pastime under pleasureable conditions. Several minor additions are to be made ,and the official opening will take place at an early date. A word of praise is due to Mr. Andrew Burt, manager of the Pukemiro Collieries, for his valuable assistance iu the matter. He can be given chief credit for the erection of the bath.
