BLAZE AT WANGANUI
AUCTION ROOMS GUTTED BRIGADE HAS HARD FIGHT Press Association WANGANUI, To-day. A fir© shortly' after eleven o’clock on Saturday' night gutted the front portion of auction rooms in an important block in the main street and ruined the stock. The brigade had a hard fight to keep the blaze from spreading to adjoining buildings and to old wooden premises at the rear. Had they caught they' would have endangered a large part of the block, which contains many important stores and the Bank of New Zealand. The origin of the blaze is a mystery.
