PLASTERER EXPLAINS THEFTS Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Avon Roderick Ayres, aged 42, a plasterer, when interviewed by the police with reference to the theft of £8 10s from a friend with whom he had spent New Year's Eve. said his wife had left him and he had taken the money to feed his three young children. The Probation Officer said accused’s children were left practically alone. On his recommendation probation was granted for 12 months. The restitution was ordered of £4 10s. the other £4 having been recovered.
