RECORD HOLIDAY VISITORS NEW BUILDINGS APPRECIATED (From Our Own Correspondents TE KUITI, To-day. That the provision of increased accommodation at the Waitomo Caves Hostel was fully justified is shown by the remarkable increase in the number of visitors to this popular resort during the Christmas and New Year holidays. The building's have been taxed to their utmost capacity and heavy bookings have been made for several weeks ahead. In addition to those staying at the hostel, there were over 40 camping parties on "Wednesday, with the most elaborate outfit down to the humble 6 x 10 tent. Visitors to the hostel expressed themselves as being well satisfied with the treatment they received and the accommodation in general, former visitors to the caves being especially appreciative of the improvements. During the past twelve days 2,000 sightseers have been shown through the caves, an increase of nearly 500 compared with the same period last year.
