FOOTBALLER SHOT
BOTH HANDS INJURED DISCHARGE OF GUN Press Association ASHBURTON, To-day. Gordon Cartwright, aged 19, was seriously injured yesterday while shooting. He was resting on his gun •when the charge exploded, badlv shattering his right hand and injuring his left. He was taken to hospital in a serious condition, but no amputation has been so far necessary. He is progressing favourably. Cartwright is a county Rugby representative player and a well-known runner.
