The post office at Mercury Bay is know:: in official circles at Whitianga, and lone continued efforts by residents have n persuaded Cabinet Ministers and Cover: ment officials that the name should be altered to Mercury Bay. It is now suggested that, if the Poe and Telegraph Department is unwillir.: to alter the name, the trouble may overcome by issuing a general instrtion to all post offices that letters addressed to Mercury Bay are intended despatch to the Whitianga post office.
