BIBLE CLASS CONFERENCE
MANY DELEGATES FOR HAMILTON The New Zealand Presbyterian Bible Class Conference, which is to open at Hamilton on Thursday and to continue until January 3, will be attended by over 1,000 delegates from all parts of the Dominion. Mass meetings each day will be held in the drill hall, Knox Street, and sectional gatherings in the High School hall and in St. Andrew's Church. Addresses are to be given by the Revs. W. Bower Black, of Christchurch, D. C. Herron, J. A. Thompson, George Budd, moderator elect, and Messrs. W. J. Holdsworth, of Auckland, and J. Reid, of Balclutha. A sports meeting has been arranged for December 29, an excursion for December 31, a garden party for January I, and an excursion to Rotorua for January 3. MAIMOA SAILING. —The Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Maimoa did not finish cargo operations at Prince’s Wharf on Saturday, as was expected. In consequence, her departure for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin has beqn postponed until to-morrow morning. CARGO FROM LIVERPOOL. The Federal Company reports that the Westmoreland will leave Liverpool on January 5 with general cargo to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She will be followed by the Middlesex, which is to leave Liverpool on January 19 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Huntingdon is to sail from Liverpool on February 16 with general cargo to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. PORT DENISON COMING. —Advice received by Heather, Roberton, Ltd., states that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Denison left Sydney on Friday evening and is due at Auckland on Wednesday morning. The vessel will load 10,000 boxes of butter and a quantity of general cargo at Auckland and she is to sail on Friday afternoon for Gisborne, Waikokopu, Wellington, Bluff •and Lyttelton to complete loading. From Lyttelton she is to be despatched for London via Panama on January 22. SYDNEY STEAMERS. —En route from Sydney to Auckland, the HuddartParker intercolonial passenger steamer Ulimaroa is due in the stream at Auckland to-morrow morning. The vessel will berth at Queen’s Wharf. The Union Company’s Marama, which sailed from Auckland on Thursday afternoon last for Sydney, arrived at the New South Wales port at six o’clock this morning. The Maunganui arrived in the stream at Sydney at five o’clock this morning with passengers, mails and cargo from Wellington.
