MAJESTIC
“DRY MARTINI” Only a Frenchman with the subtle humour of his race and an intimate knowledge of his Paris could have made such a delightful comedy-drama as “Dry Martini,” which is now being shown at the Majestic Theatre. This Fox Films production with Mary Aster, Matt Moore, Albert Gran, Sally Filers and Jocelyn Lee in the featured roles, was directed by Harry D’Arrast, a young Parisian, with a skill and sympathy that has won plaudits from every capacity audience which has witnessed the showing. It is a sophisticated story based on the novel by John Thomas and narrates the adventures of an American who is living in Paris for eight years, most of that time at the bar of the famous Ritz. The unexpected arrival of his daughter makes it necessary for him to give up both his “Dry Martini” and his many loves. Laughter, excitement and romance are furnished in generous measure in this production. Mary Astor as the daughter, and Matt Moore as the young American who comes to mend a broken heart in Paris have the romantic leads. Albert Gran is a source of constant laughter as the father. Decidedly a picture, to delight every taste. Bright spots from the Aladdin Pantomime are being given for the children at the afternoon sessions under tho direction of Miss Lillian O'Leary. The pictorial programme includes a variety film, “The World We Live In,” an Aesop Cartoon, a comedy and the latest Majestic Hews. On the evening of Christmas Day the Majestic will screen the beautiful film of a father’s love, “Sorrell and Son,” starring H. B. Warner, Nils Asther and Alice Joyce,
