PRINCE EDWARD

PICTURES AND STAGE BAND Clara Bow’s latest picture, a story of the underworld entitled “Ladies of the Mob,” will be shown at the Prince Edward Theatre this evening. The popular actress appears as the wife of Richard Arlen, a young and callous bank robber, and the story deals with their big haul, their successful escape, and the long, long road back to the quiet life. “No Other Woman,” a powerful society drama starring Dolores Del Rio, will also be shown. The management of the Prince Edward Theatre has pleasure in announcing that,, in addition to the current picture programmes, a unique entertainment in the form of a stage band presentation has been arranged. This type of presentation, although in its infancy in the Dominion, at present is generally accepted as being an essential part of the entertainment offered by the leading theatres in England and America. Naturally the performance at the Prince Edward will not be on such a lavish scale as those produced overseas, but at the same time patrons are assured that Mr. Gwyllym Jones’s specially augmented orchestra will play the latest jazz hits in its best style. The supporting artists have been culled from the best of the available material. All in all, patrons are offered something out of the ordinary, and are assured of entertainment in keeping with the spirit of the holidays. Box plan is now open at the theatre, and seats may be reserved for the season without extra charge. The all-Maori picture of the old legend of Hinemoa and Tutanekai, entitled, “The Romance of Hinemoa,” will be shown at the Prince Edward Theatre to-morrow evening. “Someone To Love” has been selected as the title of the second Charles Rogers’s starring picture for Paramount, previously titled “Just TwentyOne.” In the cast are Mary Brian, Jack Oakie, William Austin, James Kirkwood and Frank Reicher.
