THE TWO-YEAR-OLDS

1-lonour, who looks a picture, and Phillipic were sent half a mile, the former drawing out up the straight to beat his stable mate. The first furlong took 13 3-5, but there was no loitering over the last stages, Honour returning 50 2-5, his last three taking 36 4-5. The Foal Stakes candidate seems ready to put up a great fight on Boxing Day. Ceremony, ridden by a light boy, did even better than Honour, for he slipped over the first furlong in 12 1-5 (and had not reached his top when the watches started) and the full four in 49 2-5, the best half of the morning. The youngster has made marked im-

provement since he raced here in the spring. Pure Tea showed some pace in running half a mile in 50 2-5, the last three in 38 1-5. Gold Tinge (on the outside) pleased better than Royal Flower and Kinross at the end of six furlongs in 1.20 2-5, the final four taking 54 3-5. The two-year-old looks the part, too. Desert Song and Norval Tea, from a standing start, ran five furlongs in 1.7 2-5, the former being impressive. Speed Light took 1.7 to come home from the five-furlong barrier, and she ran about a Uit in the straight. After breakfast Flyign Prince and came home over four furlongs in 51 3-5.
