ST. JAMES
GEORGE WALLACE AGAIN The George "Wallace Revue Company opened their Auckland season at the St. Janies Theatre this afternoon, when they presented their clever and breezy show, "Off Honolulu,” a scintillating medley of sketches, songs and dancing. Comedians come and go, but few win as much applause as George Wallace. His drollery is inimitable as it is so much a part of his own personality. His dancing and jesting almost indicate genius. "When a comedian steps on a stage without an ounce of makeup on his race he is not so sure of getting a laugh as he would be if he paraded a large, red nose, and a streak through his eye—at least, not unless he is a born humorist like George Wallace, who relies solely upon his personality. \nd George certainly gets the applause. George is most ably supported by Marshall Crossly and by Marie Nyman. a singer of charm and distinction. Other capable artists are Ada Scanlon, the Two Haleys, and Jack Scott. The chorus girls, the ‘‘Six Rascals, dance on and off in bewildering changes of colourful costumes.
