PRINCE EDWARD
“THREE SINNERS” "When the Baroness *Gerda, a good wife and mother, left her train for one* clandestine hour, she did not know that it was wrecked the same night. That is the central theme in “Three Sinners,” now at the Prince Edward Theatre. What faltering words came to her lips when she stood face to face with her stern father-in-law in her lover’s house? What did she do when that father-in-law said with icy finality. My daughter-in-law is dead—she 4|ad last night in a wrecked train!" “Three Sinners," one of the greatest of Pola Negri's starring vehicles, tells with tense drama this great story and the answers to these questions.^ Featured in support of Pola Negri in ‘ Three Sinners” are Paul Lukas, Tullio Carminati and Olga Baclanova. “Playing Straight,” a merry comedy of College life s starring Robert Agnew and Ben Turpin, will also be shown. “STOP THAT MAN” AT CAPITOL All the ingredients that go to make U P a rib-cracking comedy plentifully intermingled with action, suspense, and *n appealing love theme are embodied in “Stop That Man,” now being shown at the Capitol Theatre. Arthur Lake plays in the leading male role with his usual zest, and he appears to better advantage In this than in any of his previous pictures. Barbara Kent is the “sweet young thing” who plays opposite him. Miss Kent’s beauty is outstanding in every Picture in which she plays. “Stop That Man” is an episode of a younger brother who wanted to be a Policeman like his two older brothers. Instead of becoming an officer of the law, he almost turns into a crook. A rousing American baseball story, “Warming Up/* which stars Richard Dix. will also be shown. On the evening of Christmas Day the Capitol will screen “The King of Kings.” Gloria Swanson lias just purchased ‘Clothes.” the story by Lucy Stone Terrill, fo£ her next picture after she finishes Kelley." It will probably take her some time longer to purchase the clothes for it.
