AN AMAZING ABDUCTION
LIVED WITH GIRL OF 12 MARRIED MAN ON TRIAL Reed. 9.30 a.m. MELBOURNE, To-day* Tliere were amazing disclosures in the abduction case against Albert Peardon, a married man. Evidence w,as given that he cleared out in 1923 with Violet Barry, then aged 12, a ward of the State, who was in the care of Peardon’s wife, and thaK since then he had lived with the girl as man and wife in other States of the Commonwealth. The girl was now the mother of two children aged four and 20 months. The girl gave evidence that she was as much to blame as Peardon, who de« posed that he believed she was over 16 otherwise he would not have taken her away. Peardon was committed for trial.
