' QAOL FOR SOLICITOR WELLINGTON, To-day. : I fchall have to impose a term of imprisonment,” said Mr. E. Page, S.M., this morning. The accused was Eric Donald Ross, aged 29, who, a few years ago was a solicitor practising in Christchurch, and was before the Court in 1926 on charges of theft and Sentenced to reformative detention afterwards going to Australia, where he worked as a journalist. He returned to New Zealand a few weeks ago, and to-day pleaded guilt*' to the theft ct a suit-case and contents from ar. hotel and ct a travelling rug from a shop doorway. He was sentenced to four months' imprisonment.
