MR. L. E. RHODES TO SEEK RE-ELECTION ANSWER TO DEPUTATION Mr- L. E. Rhodes, Mayor of Mount Albert, intends to offer himself as a candidate for the Mayoralty next year. We informed a deputation of 30 ratepayers at his home last evening of his decision. The Deputy-Mayor, Mr. J. H. Langley, who led the deputation, said that rhere was a widespread wish that Mr. Rhodes should remain as Mayor. He had proved liis efficiency in six years of office, and the borough had progressed under his administration. Mr. A- A. Buckley, a member of the council, said that six out of eight on the council had assured him of their support for Mr. Rhodes. Many important works were in progress at present under Mr. Rhodes’s direction, and it was desired to have a continuity of policy. Among the other speakers were Mr. T. B. Clay, a former Mayor, and Mr. P. Floyd, a council member. Cheers were given for Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes.
