PICNICS AT MOTUIHI

ISLAND TO BE AVAILABLE, SAYS MAYOR INSPECTION THIS WEEK According to advice received by the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, the Director of the Live Stock Division of the Agricultural Department will visit Auckland this week to arrange the conditions on whicli picnickers will be able to use Motuihi Island during the holidays. Dr. C. J. Rcakes, the director-general of the department, will not be able to visit Auckland this year. The main questions to be settled are the protection of live stock and crops, and the conservation of W'ater, the island supply of water being from a spring. Arrangements have been made for the Parks Committee to visit the island with the departmental representative.
