MR. A. R. BRYCE The death of Mr. A. R. Bryce oc- | cuirecl on Sunday in the Auckland > Hospital, after a long illness. Mr. j Bryce was a much respected resident | of the Te Kuiti district, and had been . farming at Wairere. Mr. Bryce was the eldest son of the j late Hon. John Bryce, Minister of i Native Affairs in the Atkinson Govern- ; ment. The late Mr. Bryce was formerly farming in "the Marton district, selling | his property there before going to the ; Great War, in which he saw consider- I able service, including the Gallipoli campaign. On being invalided home, he took up land in the King Country. His loss will be mourned by a large circle of friends in the Te Kuiti district. Mr. Bryce is survived by his widow. MR. GEORGE HALL , Mr. George Hall, who has died in the Whangarei Hospital, at the age of 74, was born at Chipping Norton. Oxfordshire, and came to New Zealand with his wife and family 43 years ago. living first at Auckland and later at Waikiekie and Mangapai. He finally settled at Oneralii, where he had lived for 26 years. Mrs. Hall died three years ago. Mr. Hall is survived by two sons and three daughters. MOTHER MARY OP NAZARETH The death occurred on Tuesday of Mother Mary of Nazareth (Elizabeth Power), of the Convert Institute de Notre Dame des Missions, Ellerslie, at the age of 63. Born in Ireland she came to New Zealand at the age of 18 and entered the order at Napier two years later. She worked at Napier, Nelson, Opunake and Howick, being at the last-named place for 17 years. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ellerslie, this morning, the funeral afterwards leaving for Panmure Cemetery. MR. MALCOLM GALLOWAY Mr. Malcolm Galloway, who died at his residence, Station Road East, Papatoetoe, yesterday afternoon, in his 79th year, arrived at Auckland on the sailing ship Jessie Osborne, 52 years ago to-day. Immediately after his arrival, Mr. Galloway was employed on a farm at Puni, and after seven years, took up an unbroken farm at Wiri, where he lived till 16 years ago. On his retirement he took up his residence in Papatoetoe, where he has lived ever since. His wife died some years ago. Mr. Galloway was a keen worker in the Presbyterian Church, where he held office as an elder, and was an active member of the choir. Mr. Galloway was an enthusiastic bowler, and was well known in bowling circles throughout the Auckland Province. He is survived by four sons and five daughters and 22 grandchildren. MR. JOHN R. MARTIN Mr. John Robert Martin, of Mount ! Albert, who died on Monday at the age of 65, was educated at the Mount Albert School and the Auckland Grammar School. He was a well-known sportsman and was an expert judge of horses, as well as being a fine amateur rider. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, two sisters and one brother, Mr. A. A. Martin, of Auckland. MR. GEORGE MONDY Mr. George Mondy. a well-known barrister, has died at Dunedin. Some years ago he was a partner of the firm of which Sir Robert (then Mr'* Stout and Sir William (then Mr.) Sim were members. — P.A- . m. »
