The Taranaki Oil Fields Co., reports: The Gisborne No. 2 well cleaned out to within 25ft from the bottom; lOin diameter casing to 1,931 ft; fairly strong flow of gas from bottom of well.
FRANKTON STOCK SALE SHEEP MARKET FIRM Prices at the Frankton yards to-day showed little alterations on last week’s quotations. A good yarding of fat sheep sold firm at late rates. Cow and heifer beef was in good demand and pigs came forward in satisfactory numbers to meet with a good demand. Auctioneers’ reports are as follows: DalgeCy and Company, Ltd.—Fat cows, £ll 12s 6d to £l2; others, £7 2s 6d to £lO 12s 6d; vealers, 27s 6d to 31s. Pigs: Baconers, £2 9s to £2 11s; lighter baconers, £ 2 to £2 15s; heavy porkers, £1 12s to £1 18s; lighter porkers, £1 8s to £1 9s; choppers, £2 2s to £2 12s Sheep: Fat wethers, 28s 9d to 325; fat ewes. 25s 6d. Farmers Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd.—A good yarding of beef came forward. Prime quality steers showed a slight increase in value, while cows were very firm at late rates. A large yarding of sheep sold on a par with last week’s prices. We quote:—Heavy fat steers, £l3 to £l4 19s; lighter fat steers, £l2 10s to £l3; nine extra choice light prime steers, on account H. S. DAIRY COMPANY PAYMENTS ! The Raglan Co-operative Dairv Company is pacing Is 4Jd a lb butter-fat, superfine, for butter-fat supplied in November. The pay-out for the month is 1 £6.300, compared with £5,200 for November, 1927. The total pay-out for the season to date is £16,670, against £13,415 for the corresponding period last year. • • # The East Tamaki Co-operative Dairy Company. Limited, has paid out to sup~pliers £13,376 for butter-fat supplied during November, the rate being Is 6Jd, plus id for shares, for superfine quality. Butter made in November totalled 96 tons 14cwt, an increase of 34 tons 2cwt, or about 55 per cent, over the corresponding month last season. The distribution for the six months totals £42.432, as against £30,135 for the corresponding period last season.
