In the course of their honeymoon trip, Captain Maurice Bucklev and Mrs. Buckley arrived at Blenheim from Fei!di..g yesterday afternoon in the Avro-Avian machine lent by Captain Ken Hall, of Hororata. Flying conditions were perfect. After clearing Feilding, Captain Buckley handed over the controls to his bride, who flew the machine all the way to Blenheim, thus achieving the distinction of being the first woman to pilot an airplane across Cook Strait. The young couple were welcomed warmly at Blenheim, and took off for Christchurch amid showers of confetti.
