KERBSIDE PETROL-PUMPS

MORRINSVILLE MAY PROHIBIT (From Our Own Correspondent) MORRINSVILLE, To-day. If a suggested resolution is carried kerbside petrol pumps in Morrinsville will be prohibited, and they will haye to be installed on private property. At Thursday’s meeting of the Morrinsville Borough Council the special committee set up to consider kerbside petrol pumps recommended that no renewals of licences be granted. The Mayor said it would first be necessary to rescind a resolution already on the minutes and he gave notice to move this at the next meeting. Later, permission was granted J. Muir and T. Martin to build benzine bowser shelters and service stations. The site for the former is at the corner of Thames and Lome Streets and the latter at the other end of the town, at the junction of Park and Thames Streets.
