YOUNG MAN KILLED
HIT BY MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENT AT WESTFIELD While cycling along the Great South Road, neir Westfield, at about 9.15 last evening. Hugh Alexander Cammock, aged 16, of Victoria Street, Onehunga, was knocked down and killed by a motor-car. The youth had knocked off work at the Westfield works, where he was employed as a lift boy, and was on his home. The car. which was driven J»y Mr. Clark, who was accompanied by his father, was going to Maramarua. The car struck the young man on the e ft side, throwing him on to the road au< * injuring his head and body so severely that he was killed instantlv. T. Rowley was called, but could do nothing. The bicycle was hopelessly "'reeked, and the car had its windscreen broken and its fight wing and ‘amp damaged. An inquest was opened at Otahuliu l his morning, Mr. F. M. Levien, S.M., Presiding. After formal evidence of l oentifi cat i on had been taken it was adjourned sine die.
