WHEAT AND FLOUR DUTIES FREE CARRIAGE OF MANURES (THE SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, To-day. Two important agricultural questions were asked m the House of Representatives this afternoon, one dealing with wheat and flour and the other with the carriage of manures. Mr. C. A. Wilkinson (Egmont) gave notice to ask the Minister of Customs (the Hon. W. B. Taverner) if the Government would take steps during the recess to inquire into the duties on wheat and flour, with the possibility of reducing them. Mr. C. H. Clinkard (Rotorua) intends asking the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. G. W. Forbes) whether, with a view to assisting and encouraging production by the more general use of artificial manures, he would recommend the Government to consider favourably the advisability of carrying free on the railways over a distance of 50 miles all artificial manures.
