SATISFACTORY PRICES
COARSE WOOLS EASIER Press Association NAPIER. Wednesday. The second Napier wool sale of the season -svas held to-day. On the whole, the prices offered were satisfactory to vendors. Finer lots brought prices equal to those ruling at the November sale, but courser lots dropped slightly, shabbier sorts showing a 2d decrease. Total offering reached 27,6-4 6 bales, and a good clearance was effected. A full bench of buyers was present, representing England, America and the Continent, as well as Dominion mins. Bidding started well, but was not consistent, and fell off toward the close, with a consequent increase in passings as compared with the previous sale. Pieces, bellies and locks were in keenest demand. Prices offered for super lines in these classes were relatively better than for fleece wools. The clip opened up in excellent condition. The recent weather conditions and the abundance of feed had an effect, but, on the whole, the offering made a splendid showing and called for some high praise. The best price of the day was secured for a line of Corriedale fleece wool. Lambs wool was not offered in any great quantity, but the quality was good and prices received were taken as satisfactory. Figures on the whole sale can be regarded as quite satisfactory.
