The new picture, an historical drama based on the Glencoe Massacre, and the stirring romance of Annie Laurie, the Scots heroine whose marriage into an enemy elan brought the peace that unified Scotland, was staged on an elaborate scale. Norman Kerry is seen as the hero. The entire resources of the great Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios were thrown into the huge production. An entire woollen mill was leased to weave the special plaids for the garments, all authentic, of some twenty-six tribes figuring in the great gathering of the clans at Maxwelton and other dramatic crowd scenes in the big picture.
