RAZORS BRANDISHED

FIERCE FIGHT IN N.S.W. ITALIANS WOUND SEVERAL SYDNEY, Monday. A sensational encounter between Australians and Italians occurred at Leeton, an irrigation settlement in New South Wales. As a result, five of the Australians were wounded with stilettos or razors. Their names are Hyde, Wilson, Dinn, O’Grady and Curtis. The police state that all the men had been drinking in a local hotel when one of the Australians is alleged to have exclaimed: “Fancy having to drink with dagoes.” This remark was resented by the Italians, who shouted excitedly and brandished razors and other weapons. They are then said to have attacked the Australians, who scattered in all directions. Wilson sustained a wound on his body, Hyde an ugly cut in his neck and the others minor cuts. The police arrested one Italian, Michele Cacia, and other arrests are pending.
