FOUR NEW LECTURERS
FOR UNIVERSITY COLLEGE COUNCIL’S APPOINTMENTS At yesterday’s meeting: of the Auckland University College Council, four new lecturers were appointed. Mr. W. T. G. Airey, a graduate of the Auckland University College, and now
lecturer in English and history at the Christchurch Training College, was appointed lecturer in history out of 21 applicants for the position. Mr. R. P. Anschutz, senior scholar in philosophy at the University of New Zealand, 1923, and a post-graduate of Edinburgh University, where he has recently been acting as assistant to the Professor of Logic and Metaphysics, was appointed lecturer in philosophy. Mr. S. I. Crookes, junr., who has been a part-time lecturer at the college during the past three years, was appointed lecturer in building construction. Mr. J. Turkington, who has been lecturing at the School of Architecture recently, was given a lectureship in freehand drawing.
