PRESENTATION AT NGATEA
Mr. J. Terrill, who for the past five years has been in business in Ngatea as a hairdresser and tobacconist, and who is leaving the district was, with Mrs. Terrill, accorded a public farewell at u social at Ngatea on Saturday. The function was arranged by a committee of Ngatea ladies in conjunction with the Ngatea Cricket Club, of which Mr. Terrill was president. Mr. W. G. Hayward expressed the regreat of the people of the district at the departure of Mr. and Mrs. Terril, whom the district could ill afford to lose. In wishing them success and prosperity Mr. Hayward handed them a silver tea-ser-vice and oak tray as a small token of the esteem in which they were held. Mr. Terril suitably replied A dance was held later, music for which was supplied by Miss Birkenhead and Messrs. Coppins, Kawini and M. Martin, while Mr. Phillips was M.C. Prizes for the progressive euchre were won by Mrs. W. P. Wylde and Mr. Reg Phillips, while the consolation prizes went to Miss E. Wade and Mr. C. S. Foster.
