£2,000 FOR UNEMPLOYMENT
PRIME MINISTER’S FIRST GRANT , Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. HPH E MAYOR, Rev. J. K. Archer, received a telegram this morning stating that Sir Joe-eph Ward had agreed to a grant of £2,000 for the relief of unemployment in Christchurch. Two hundred men are being given a fortnight's work immediately.
