Recognised as one of the best League referees in New Zealand, Mr. Arthur ITarlock, who refereed the final test between England and New Zealand, was met by a large gathering of Waikato sportsmen at Yluntly last night and presented with a gold albert as a mark of appreciation. The president of the South Auckland League, Mr. T. Main, presided, and the chairman of the South Auckland League, Mr. T. Hill, made the presentation. Mr. Hill said that not only was it a great honour for Mr. Harlock to be the only referee in New’ Zealand chosen from a sub-union to referee a test match, but that Press and public were unanimous that no one could have found fault with Mr. Plarlock’s display. Several other speakers, including representatives of other winter codes, referred eulogistically to Mr. Harlock's fine record in sport. Mr. ITarlock suitably replied. A lengthy toast list was honoured. Messrs. Harry Meadows, S. Roburts. L Jones. J. Ashcroft. C. Shanley. R. Nicholson, A. Mclntosh and T. Tai i contributed to the musical portion of the programme.
