Hen eggs are now realising 1s 3d and 1s 4d a dozen, intermediate size hen eggs, 1s Id; and duck egs, 1s 1d to 1s 2d. Supplies are moderate and the demand is improving. Moderate supplies of farmers’ butter are held. To-day’s prices were 1s Id to 1s 3d a lb, with a good demand. In the shops, first quality factory butter is bringing 1s 8d a lb, and second grade 1s 7d. The prioe across the counter in the shops for leg and loin of spring lamb is 1s 6d a lb. Hindquarter is bringing 1s 4d; forequarter, 1s 2d; forequarter of old lamb, 7d; leg of mutton, 9d ; neck and breast, 6d; leg and loin chops, lid; hindquarters, 9d; forequarters, 7d; shoulders, 7ld; sirloin, 10d; rump steak, 1s 2d; beef steak and corned round, 8d; suet and sausages, 6d; tripe and dripping 7d; and prime rib, 76. In the vegetable market, green peas are bringing 2s 6d to 4s a bag; French beans, 4d to 5d a lb; radish, 6d a dozen bundles; cabbages, 1s to 4s a dozen; cauliflowers, 2s to 8s a dozen; marrows, 2s to 4s 6d a dozen: spinach, 6d to 9d a dozen bundles; new potatoes, 5s to 7s a bag: pumpkins, 1s to 2s 6d each; lettuces, 2s to 5s a case; rhubarb, 1s 3d to 3s a dozen; asparagus, 4d to 6d a bundle; carrots, beet, parsnips and turnips, 6d to 1s a dozen bundles; cucumbers, 2s to 6s a dozen: and spring onions, 4d to 1s a bundle.
